Introduction

Damascode ("we", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to being transparent about how we process your personal data. This Cookie Policy applies to the damascode.com website and all subdomains operated by Damascode.

When browsing our website you can choose to accept or reject non-essential cookies through the consent banner. Strictly necessary cookies are installed without requiring your consent, as permitted by applicable law.

This policy complements our general data protection approach, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Portuguese Law No. 58/2019 and Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy).

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, mobile phone or tablet) when you visit a website. They allow the site to "remember" your actions and preferences (such as authentication, language or consent) for a period of time so you don't have to re-enter them on every visit.

Beyond cookies, we also use similar technologies such as the browser's local storage to save your consent preference. For the purposes of this policy, all these technologies are treated with the same level of transparency.

Types of cookies we use

Strictly necessary

Required for the site to work correctly. They enable basic operations such as authentication, keeping your session active, and protection against CSRF attacks. Without them we cannot deliver the services you request. They do not require consent.

Functional / Preferences

Store choices you make (such as your cookie decision or language) to improve your experience. They are only installed based on your direct interaction with the site.

Analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the site, measure traffic and improve content. Only used if you accept them in the cookie banner.

Marketing

We currently do not use marketing or behavioural advertising cookies on damascode.com. If we ever do, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for fresh consent.

Third-party services

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) with Google Consent Mode v2 enabled. This means that by default all consent categories are set to "denied" and are only updated to "granted" after you explicitly accept the cookie banner.

Google may process data on servers located outside the European Economic Area. Google is certified for international transfers under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For more information see Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

If you visit pages embedding third-party content (for example, links to LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp), those services may set their own cookies when you interact with them. Damascode does not control those cookies and we recommend reading the respective providers' privacy policies.

Under Article 6 of the GDPR and Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, the legal bases for using cookies are:

  • Performance of a contract and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR)

For cookies strictly necessary for the site to function and to keep user sessions secure.

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR)

For analytics and any other non-essential cookies. Consent is freely given, specific, informed and can be withdrawn at any time.

Your rights as a data subject

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data and request a copy of it.
  • Rectify inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
  • Restrict or object to the processing of your data.
  • Request portability of your data in a structured format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on prior consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority (CNPD) — www.cnpd.pt — or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

How to manage your preferences

You can review your cookie decision at any time using the button below, which resets the consent banner and removes your previous choice.

You can also block, delete or manage cookies directly from your browser settings. Please note that blocking all cookies may prevent some site features (such as staying signed in) from working.
